Giudecca is the isle South to the city. Once rich in gardens and looms, industrial centre in XIX century, nowadays it’s relaxing and calm, away from the hectic life of tourists in the city centre. The isle is well known thanks to Chiesa del Redentore, but there are plenty of reasons why it’s worth a visit: the panorama, embracing the whole Laguna, its peaceful courts with people meeting for a chat by the doorstep. The visit end up in Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore, from whose tower the view is sometimes better than from San Marco’s.
